Update Contact - Payment Terms & Parent Company
This guide will help you update contact information, specifically payment terms and parent company details, using the Update Import feature in Planufac. By linking contacts to a parent company (e.g., a Head Office), you can efficiently manage invoices for multiple contacts under one parent entity.
Required for a Successful Update
- IDs: Ensure that the id field is correctly filled for each contact you want to update.
Steps to Update Contact Information
1. Access the Import/Export Section
- Log in to Planufac.
- Navigate to the Import/Export section from the main menu.
2. Select the Update Data Option
- Go to the Update Data section in the Import/Export interface.
- From the dropdown menu, select Contacts as the import type.
3. Prepare Your Update Template

To ensure that you have the correct format and required fields for updating contacts, you can download the template from the link below. This template will provide you with the structure needed to successfully import your updates.

id – The unique identifier for the contact (e.g., "8231"). This is a mandatory field. You can find
the ID by exporting contacts.

- id - (Mandatory) The id is a unique identifier associated with each contact within the database. This field is mandatory when performing updates via import.
- name – (Optional) The contact name.
- payment_term – (Optional) Specify the new payment terms (e.g., "30 Days").
- parent_company – (Optional) Indicate the parent company associated with the contact (e.g., "HEAD OFFICE"). This field is especially useful for businesses with multiple branches or subsidiaries. By linking contacts to a parent company, you streamline the invoicing process, allowing you to send one consolidated invoice to the parent company for all associated contacts. This can improve efficiency in managing relationships with larger corporate entities and simplifying the billing process.
4. Upload the Update Template
- Click Browse to locate and select your completed template file.
- After selecting the file, click Upload to start the update process.
5. Verify the Update
- Once the upload is complete, check the Contacts section to ensure that the payment terms and parent company details have been updated correctly.
- Contacts associated with a parent company (e.g., "HEAD OFFICE") can now be invoiced under that entity, simplifying the billing process.
