Product Name Change Bulk Import

This guide will walk you through the steps required to change product names in bulk within Planufac by exporting, editing, and re-importing the product data.

Step 1: Export Product Data

1. Go to Import/Export:

   • Navigate to the "Import/Export" section in Planufac.

     Export Products Data:

   • In the "Export Data" dropdown, select Products.
   • Click the Export button.
   • This will download a file containing all your product data.

Step 2: Edit the Product Data File

1. Open the Exported File:

   • Open the exported file in a spreadsheet editor (like Excel).

     Edit Product Names:

   • Locate the sku and name columns. The sku column should contain unique identifiers for each product, and the name column will show the current product names.
   • Do not change the sku values; these must remain the same to ensure correct product identification.

   • Update the name column with the new product names you wish to assign. Ensure the structure remains the same as shown in the file (SKU and Name only).

     Save the File:

   • Save the file once you've made all desired changes to the product names.

Step 3: Import the Updated Product Data

1. Go to Import/Export:

   • Return to the "Import/Export" section in Planufac.

     Select Update Data for Products:

   • In the "Update Data" dropdown, choose Products. This option is specifically for updating existing product information.

     Upload the Edited File:

   • Click Browse to locate the edited file you just saved.
   • Click Upload to begin uploading the file. Note: This action will overwrite the existing product names with the new names you have provided in the file.

Step 4: Process the Update

1. Initiate Processing:
   • After uploading, go to the "Created" list under "Update Data."
   • Locate the uploaded file entry, and click on the three dots (options) on the right.

   • Select Process to apply the changes.

     Completion:

   • Once processing is complete, the product names in your system will be updated according to the names specified in the imported file.

Important Notes

• Double-check the File: Ensure all desired product names are accurately listed before uploading, as this will overwrite your current product names.
• Monitor the Update Status: After processing, verify that the status shows as 100% successful for a smooth update process.
