Bin Locations For Sales Filters

This Planufac update introduces bin location filtering and multi-aisle sorting to enhance sales order management, making warehouse operations more efficient by streamlining order picking processes.

New Features

Bin Location Filtering

  • Overview: A new filter to select sales orders based on bin locations.
  • Functionality: Bin locations must start with a single capital letter (e.g., A, B, C), followed by any characters (e.g., A78-320-AV89). Starting with numbers or other characters is not supported.
  • Benefits: Allows precise order selection, reducing time spent navigating multiple aisles.

Multi-Aisle Sorting

  • Overview: Automated sorting for multiple aisle locations.
  • Functionality: Set aisle sequences (e.g., A-B) to display orders from specified aisles, sorted alphabetically. Longer sequences (e.g., A-B-C-D-E) support larger setups.
  • Benefits: Organises orders for efficient picking across designated aisles.

Use Case

Scenario: A busy retail warehouse with multiple aisles (A, B, C, etc.) needs to improve picking efficiency during peak hours. To save time, the manager assigns each staff member to pick orders from a single aisle.

  1. How It Works: The manager uses the bin location filter to print off orders to gives it to staff based on aisle. For example, one staff member is given orders only from aisle A (e.g., bin A78-456), while another handles aisle B (e.g., bin B12-XYZ). The multi-aisle sorting feature generates a sorted list for each aisle (e.g., A sequence for one picker), ensuring all orders are grouped by aisle and listed alphabetically.
  2. Outcome: Staff focus on a single aisle, minimising travel time across the warehouse. This targeted approach speeds up order picking, reduces congestion, and boosts overall efficiency.
