Stock Adjustments
Stock adjustments allow you to manually manipulate the stock levels of any inventory item within the database. There are a few different ways to adjust stock:
Mass Adjustments
- Updating the inventory of multiple products at the same time is done by navigating to the main Stock Adjustments page within the inventory tab.
Single Adjustments (without batches)
- Single adjustments can be performed in one of two ways, the first being the Mass Adjustment method above.
- The second method is to locate the item in either the Inventory List (for items with no batches) or the Detailed Inventory List (for items with batches).
- Pressing the adjustment button from the inventory list will open the adjustment modal.
- First choose the location you would like to adjust the stock level for—this will update the quantity box, on the left will be the current stock level, on the right will be the new stock level.
- Enter a positive number to increase the stock or a negative number to decrease the stock.
- Press Save and the stock will be adjusted throughout the system.
- When adding stock (positive), the Unit Cost input will be editable; by default, the MAC (Moving Average Cost) is used. If you would like to add stock with a different price, simply change the unit cost value.
- When deducting stock (negative), the Unit Cost input is disabled.
Single Adjustments (with batches)
- Pressing the adjustment button from the detailed inventory list will open the adjustment modal.
- When adjusting a batched item, the location is already set; instead, a batch dropdown appears, which will default to whichever batch record you selected.
- The quantity box will be pre-loaded with the before (on the left) and the after (on the right) figures.
- Enter a positive number to increase the stock or a negative number to decrease the stock.
- Press Save and the stock will be adjusted throughout the system.
- When adjusting a batch, there is no unit cost input; the unit cost from the existing items in the batch is applied.
Zero Down Inventory with Negative Stock
- When an item's stock goes below zero, an Oversell record is created in the inventory database. Usually, oversell records will be removed with valid stock when a purchase order is received or a manufacturing schedule is completed.
- Oversold stock items that are supposed to have batches will be created without a batch number. This would normally be replaced with a valid batch number from incoming stock.
- If you need to zero down an oversold stock item without a batch, you will need to click the + icon next to the batch number dropdown in the stock adjustment and create a new dummy batch number and expiry.
Recent Updates - 21/03/2025
We have introduced several updates to the Stock Adjustments page in Planufac to improve efficiency and functionality for inventory management. These enhancements, accessible under Inventory > Stock Adjustments, provide better tools for tracking and analysing stock changes.
User Selection Filter
- A new user selection dropdown allows filtering of stock adjustments by the individual who made them, enabling more precise tracking of changes.
Date Range Filter
- The added date range filter lets you select a specific time period to view stock adjustments, helping you focus on relevant data for your analysis.
CSV Export Option
A CSV export feature has been implemented, enabling you to download stock adjustment data for external use in a structured format.
The exported file includes the following columns:
- Date: The timestamp of the adjustment.
- Location: Where the adjustment occurred.
- Reason: The purpose, such as "Stock Take".
- Product: The item name.
- SKU: The stock keeping unit for unique identification.
- Units Deducted: Quantity removed from inventory.
- Units Added: Quantity added to inventory.
- Unit Cost Value (AC): The average cost per unit.
